"For the final few years of my mother's life, we employed Patty to serve as her health advocate. Mom had a variety of health issues that needed to be juggled, with specialists who didn’t always seem to communicate effectively with her or with each other. As a trained nurse, Mom expected to be able to manage her own medical issues, but her memory was also failing with age, which made this impossible. She had always been an angry woman, and frustration over all the things she couldn’t do exacerbated this, so she was not easy to deal with. Patty was amazingly patient with her. Patty attended appointments with Mom, sent relevant information from the doctors to us and to other family members, kept track of what Mom needed in terms of medication and appointments, and ensured that nothing was forgotten. She ensured that all of Mom’s doctors and family members had the information they/we needed to make the last years of Mom's life as healthy and as smooth as possible. We are enormously grateful to Patty for the care and dedication she showed for this challenging and sometimes thankless work."
